Should I install a wall thermostat above an in-wall fan heater?

In-wall fan heater thermostats are easiest to mount in the same stud cavity (opposite side of stud) about 5 feet above the heater. Because in-wall fan heaters are best to install on an inside wall, locating the thermostat close to the door where it can be turned off as the homeowner leaves the room is ideal.

Always mount thermostats away from drafts, direct sunlight, or any appliances that could affect the performance of the thermostat. Be sure the area around the thermostat is clear of shelves or wall decor that could impede airflow around the thermostat.
