OLD PROCESS
Cadet recently completed a 3-day Kaizen event that targeted improving our purchase order and requisition process by reducing 50% of the steps, time and paperwork, and providing a clearly defined process to eliminate errors.
Once the team defined their goals, they mapped out the current process and what was/was not working well. They used process flow charts and spaghetti diagrams to show the steps, traffic patterns, and time involved.

NEW PROCESS
Then, they created a new work flow that eliminated multiple wasted steps, and worked closely with the IT team to be certain our systems could handle the new fully automated requirements.

Paper reduction: 100%
Steps reduction: 50%
Processing length 50% reduction
Tighter controls in place.
