SPOTLIGHT ON LEAN MANUFACTURING
Cadet has made a commitment to remain a strong USA manufacturer. Our Vancouver, Washington facility employs over 100 employees in a variety of roles.
How do we remain competitive in a global marketplace?
Cadet has embraced Lean Manufacturing as one method to continually reduce costs and improve quality. Though a proponent of Lean for over 10 years, Cadet recently made a renewed commitment to accelerate the company’s transformation by hiring a full-time Lean Champion to focus on this effort. The Lean Champion, utilizing a variety of Lean Tools, is tasked with teaching, implementing and sustaining Lean activities throughout the company and instilling a Lean Culture across the entire workforce.
The Lean philosophy extends from the production floor to the offices: transforming the company and utilizing the employees’ knowledge and experience to do so. Lean utilizes a variety of tools that enable workers to reduce waste in all areas by reducing cycle times and removing activities that do not add value to the product or process, in everything from building heaters to inputting an order for a customer.
Our goals are for all employees to be involved in solutions, as our belief is the experts are the individuals on the front lines.
