In our old house, we had one thermostat, and at night we'd argue over where to set it, since I wanted to conserve heat at night to keep the bill down, while my wife's priority was to stay warm. We sold that house, and bought our current house, which has cadet heaters. We have a 3 story house. The bottom 2 stories are heated with forced air gas. The bedrooms are upstairs on the top level. Each of the bedrooms have their own Cadet unit in the wall. I like to keep the heat turned down in the house at night to save money, but my wife likes it warm at night. So we compromise - the downstairs cools down overnight with a setback thermostat, while she gets to "pre-heat" the bedroom by turning it up an hour before bedtime. And then we keep the bedroom thermostat up all night sufficient to keep the room toasty (with the door closed) while the rest of the house cools down. She's warm and happy, and I'm happy. So our relationship is "warmer".
